Introduction: Ancient Greece was the most developed civilization at the time of its era. It had the smartest philosophers, the strongest military, and the greatest culture. Truly they were most supreme in their occurrence, how come they didn't survive the strongest weapon, time?

HOW DID GEOGRAPHY SHAPE GREEK LIFE? Geography was a very important thing in the life of the Greeks. There were many mountain, this did not help the Greeks very well due to the fact that it was harder to plant crops. The Greeks found another way to plant all the same. They made terraces to plant their crops. They dug into the hills and created areas to grow their crops. These terraces were mandatory for their survival, but it still was not enough to have a very large population. Ancient Greece also was in a peninsula. This meant that the Greeks were capable of trading much better than those like Sparta, not attached to the ocean.
HOW ARE MODERN POLITICAL SYSTEMS RELATED TO GREEK CITY-STATES?
In our modern political systems, we have states. Each of these states have their own government. This is similar to what the city-states had. The difference between city-states and our modern day states is that our states are all under one country. The city-states were like little individual countries, each with a different type of government.

HOW IS ANCIENT GREECE STILL APART OF OUR LIFES TODAY? As Ancient Greece was greatly known for, the idea of Democracy. Democracy is the type of government we currently use today. The difference between our democracy is that our democracy is a representative Democracy. Representative Democracies are when all of the citizens vote, but they vote officials or representatives, to actually vote for them. These representatives are part of the electoral college. Ancient Greece used a system called a Direct Democracy. This is when every citizen votes, except they actually vote for something instead of voting for someone to do your voting.
WHAT WAS THE IMPACT OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT'S EMPIRE? Alexander the Great was a great leader. He was extremely militaristic. He conquered many places in his 13 year old reign. He conquered most of the middle east at the time. Most city-states were in fear of him and even took up his religion. Alexander eventually died from disease. He did though carry out his father's plans on invading Persia and succeeded.
HOW IS OUR "AMERICAN CULTURE" LIKE "HELLENISTIC CULTURE" ? The Hellenistic Culture was a melting pot of the Persian culture, the Egyptian culture, and the Greek culture. All of these were very different, but under Alexander's rule, he combined them all into one, The Hellenistic. This is similar to the American culture. While it was founded by the colonists from Great Britain, we currently have many people from Mexico, Asia, and many other countries. This is very similar to the Hellenistic culture in the fact that they are both collected cultures combined.
