EQ: How did the Egyptian Old Kingdom Develop?
I think Egypt's old kingdom developed through religion. Everyone was so obsessed on their religion such as worshiping Ra or Osiris. They would work their jobs as hard as they could to impress their gods. They also weren't afraid of death! They sought it as Nirvana or paradise. If they didn't work as they should have, they wouldn't get to go to this paradise so they worked harder and harder just for it. Problems- If a civilization is based all on religion, any other religion seems futile or hostile. Taking this to modern day, ISIS thinks their religion is ultimate and others are phony so they kill the worshippers of those religions. Having a civilization based mostly around religion is not a very good idea, if rebellions in religion were to occur, the civilization could be wiped out. |
