DOK 2:
After Moses helped the Israelites escape Egypt after they had been enslaved, they had to take a 40 year journey just to return to Canaan. Along the way back, God realized that the Israelites had began to follow false idols. God realized this and sent forth Moses with ten commandments on stone tables, otherwise known as, The Ten Commandments. With these laws, the Israelites set forth once again back towards Canaan. When the Israelites returned to Canaan, they discovered others had taken over the area. The Israelites had traveled 40 years to get back to Canaan just to find out, they aren't aloud to live there. The Israelites weren't going to settle with this. They attack the Canaanites and took back Canaan.
DOK 3:
It took the Israelites 40 years of wandering just to make it back to Canaan. Even after they made it to Canaan, they found out it had been taken over by others already. I think one thing the Israelites could have done better to arrive faster would have been to make certain of where exactly home was. The Israelites wandered around in the dessert for 40 years just hoping they were going the right way. If they had just done some research, they could have been certain where to go. Another thing they could have done better is not stopped as many times. After they stopped at Mount Sinai, God punished them for worshiping false Idols. Another thing they did wrong was worship false idols. After they worshiped the false idols on Mount Sinai, they had to be given new laws and adapting to these took some time.
